Mélanzé - a cultural structure anchored in Thiafoura

Mélanzé

Creating differently

A regenerative culture lab in Senegal - publishing, music and community projects under the baobabs.

"Mélanzé is drawn to passages, encounters and places where disciplines answer one another. From Thiafoura, books, music and projects keep the same breath while circulating elsewhere."

The land

The place

One hectare in Thiafoura, a village near Somone. Red laterite soil, centuries-old baobabs, birdsong at dawn. This is where Mélanzé takes root.

300 m² of sustainably built spaces in adobe, recycled wood and thatch. Fully off-grid for energy and water.

What Mélanzé connects

One grounding, several circulations

The place, the stories, the music and the projects move together. Thiafoura gives a base, but Mélanzé also unfolds through other contexts, partnerships and fields of work.

The place gives rhythm, material and continuity to the whole, without confining Mélanzé to one perimeter.

Forms in circulation

Books, voices, sound, residencies and fieldwork extend Mélanzé’s grounding far beyond the site itself.
